For those who attended November’s LFPUG, I thought I’d say a big thanks for attending, and giving me so much feedback on the issues of ownership, identity, privacy, and the presentation itself. To let you know that, even though Tink observed I wasn’t taking notes on paper, I definitely haven’t forgotten about your suggestions to identify a user. For those who weren’t there, the most intriguing part of the conversation following the presentation was: How to distinguish one user’s touch from someone else’s on a multi-touch, and multi-user screen?

dedicated products vs. products with multiple functions integrated.

I’m not sure about you, but I tend to favor simple dedicated products. To put it in a slightly different perspective, this same contradiction might also refer to Simplicity versus Portability (controlling various products within one device vs. carrying multiple devices about), or Complementary vs. Redundancy (having one of each, one earpiece, one mic, one camera, vs. one of each in every device you carry along), and last but not least Quantity vs. Quality (a cam, phone, calendar, with mediocre quality. vs. seperate quality products)

I’m thinking about new services for 3. I’m learning about the technologies involved by talking to many people in the field and within the company, and reading up on information available on the web and in books to get me up to speed of things.
